Guavaberry; A Christmas Star!

In the old days on St Martin/Sint Maarten, Guavaberry was known as the drink of Christmas. It still is actually since it is rare to find homemade guavaberry rum year round, and also because the liquor is typically brewed months before in preparation for Christmas. If today manufactured guavaberry rum can be found in liquor stores and supermarkets, its real homemade version is typically kept inside private homes, shared with close friends and family who like to discuss (debate) who makes the best one!
