Marigot; Durat Bridge

The Durat Bridge

Built in 1789 along with Fort Louis and the prison, Durat Bridge is a stone structure on the way out of Marigot toward Grand Case. It was the local people who chose the name in honor of their beloved and well-respected Commander; Jean-Sébastien Durat..

Located in the “Hameau du Pont” area, the bridge now allows rainwater from the surrounding hills to drain into Galisbay Pond.
