The Antillean Crested Hummingbird (Orthorhyncus cristatus)
This species is endemic to the Lesser Antilles and a year round resident on St. Martin where it can be found at the boarders of forests but also in open vegetation (plains and gardens).
This bird is tiny with a body length at most 3.75 in (9.5 cm). The Antillean Crested hummingbird loves to visit backyard gardens and spends its time flying from flower to flower to drink their nectar, occasionally snacking on small insects and a spider or two.
