Étang aux Huîtres (Oyster Pond)

This small cove known as Étang aux Huîtres is where the district area of Oyster Pond got its English name from.

In the past, there was a vast mangrove swamp here, where edible oysters could be found attached to the roots of red mangrove trees. This mangrove has since been completely destroyed by the extensions of marinas and private pontoons.
